The project of Light Combat Aircraft(LCA) started in the year 1983.After 30 years of up and down ,TEJAs was finally given the approval by Indian Air Force for the Initial Operational Clearance.TEJAS, a single engine,light weight fighter aircraft will replace the ageing fleet of MIG 21 and will be operational after Full Operational Clearance (FOC) in December,2014.
